How to activate
- Step: Activating the License Server
Open Server Manager.
From the top right corner, go to Tools -> Remote Desktop Services -> Remote Desktop Licensing Manager.
In the window that opens, right-click your server name on the left side and click "Activate Server".
In the wizard, select "Automatic Connection" as the "Connection Method".
Enter your company and user information (you can fill it in with any details) and continue. The status of your server will be "Activated".
- Step: Installing the License Key
Right-click the server name again and this time click "Install Licenses".
In the License Program section, select "Retail Purchase" (or the option specified for you, depending on the product type).
Enter the 25-character license key sent to you in the box, click "Add", and then complete the process.
- Step: Group Policy Configuration
To distribute the licenses to clients, you must make the following setting:
Type gpedit.msc in the Start menu and run it.
Path: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Licensing
"Use the specified Remote Desktop license servers": Enable it and enter your server IP.
"Set the Remote Desktop licensing mode": Enable it and select "Per User" or "Per Device", depending on the type of license you purchased.
IMPORTANT RULES AND WARNINGS
Usage Period: The license key must be used within 12 hours at the latest after it is delivered.
Warranty Terms: Each key is single-use. After the first usage attempt (including incorrect configuration or wrong version installation), no warranty or compensation is provided.
Version Compatibility: RDS CAL keys must be fully compatible with the installed Windows Server version.
